Midlands Technical College: Entrepreneurship Certification  

Become your own boss with the Entrepreneurship Certificate program. 

This certificate provides the skills necessary to assist graduates with owning a business. Developed with the input of successful local entrepreneurs, this academic program will help students learn how to establish and operate a small business or strengthen an existing one. Receive a foundation in vital entrepreneurial areas, such as accounting, supervision, computer skills, marketing, and the entrepreneurial mindset. Take this as a stand-alone program or as part of the two-year degree in Management.  

SCORE 

SCORE can help you start, grow, or successfully exit a business. Small business owners who receive three or more hours of mentoring report higher revenues and increased growth.  SCORE offers mentorships, live webinars, local workshops, recorded webinars, and online courses.

U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) 

Whether you're looking to start a small business or expand your current one, the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) digital learning platform has everything you need to educate yourself on entrepreneurial best practices and available financing options. SBA also offers specific courses for minority and women business owners as well as resources for transitioning veteran service members.  

South Carolina Department of Commerce (SCDOC) 

The South Carolina Department of Commerce (SCDOC) offers a wide range of courses available to the public – from startup IT business assistance to resources for veteran service members. 

South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR): Taxpayer Education Classes 

Taxes are complicated. The South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) offers free workshops and in-depth seminars throughout the year to help you tackle your business filing and administrative requirements. The workshops and seminars cover topics such as Sales and Use Tax, Employer Withholding, and Alcohol Beverage Licensing (ABL).
